#General

#Is Avelok free?

There's a free tier of the Mini Program — solo training logging plus the AI chat with a 30 messages/week cap. Personal Pro (¥39/month) lifts the cap and adds match analysis. Coaches and clubs pay per active member — see SaaS strategy.

#Which sports does it support?

Today: table tennis with full memory + AI calibration. Other sports work for logging and generic plans, but the AI explicitly tells you when it's outside its sport-specific knowledge. Badminton is in pilot in late 2026.

#Which languages?

English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong flavour), French. The UI ships in all four; AI responses are in the language you ask in. We don't auto-translate session notes between coaches and players — if your coach writes in Chinese and you read in French, the app shows the original.

#Is there an iOS / Android app?

Not yet. The athlete and parent surface is a WeChat Mini Program. Coach Studio and Club OS are web apps. A native mobile app for non-WeChat regions is on the roadmap for 2027 but not committed.

#Privacy

#Where is my data stored?

Mainland China users: data stored in PRC servers, complying with PIPL. Hong Kong / international users: data stored in Singapore. We never mix the two. See the Privacy policy for specifics.

#Can the AI see other people's data when answering my questions?

No. The AI only loads the slice of memory you (or the athlete you're coaching, with consent) granted. It never reads across athletes when answering a single conversation.

#Does the AI train on my conversations?

No. We send conversations to inference providers under contracts that prohibit model training on customer data. Logs are kept 30 days for safety review and then deleted. We rotate providers; the current set is in the privacy policy.

#What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Hard delete. Your memory, your sessions, every coach's view of you, every cached AI summary — gone within 7 days. There's no soft-delete, no "we keep an aggregate copy for 90 days". Nothing.

#Coaches & clubs

#I'm a coach. Do I have to use Coach Studio, or can I just use the Mini Program?

You can run a small roster (under ~5 players) entirely from the Mini Program. Past that, the lesson plans, weekly digests, schedule grid and inbox triage are awkward on a phone, and Studio pays for itself within a week.

#My club uses Mindbody / ClassPass / a custom CRM. Can I keep that?

Yes, in two ways. (1) Today, you can run those side-by-side with Avelok and use CSV exports to keep them in sync manually. (2) Q1 2027 you'll be able to push attendance from your CRM into Avelok via the write API — see API roadmap.

#Can I import historical data when I join?

Yes for sessions and members (CSV). No for AI memory — we deliberately don't seed memory from scratch. The first month or two of using Avelok builds the memory from real new sessions; backfilling tends to produce drafts the AI can't trust.

#Can I see my coaches' chat with players?

No. Even as a Club OS Owner, coach-player and coach-parent direct messages are private. If you need that visibility for compliance, talk to us before signing — we can configure it for federations, not for individual clubs.

#Players & parents

#My child is 10. Is the AI safe for them?

For under-13 accounts, the AI runs in calm mode: no nutrition advice, no body-image comments, no peer comparisons, conservative tone. Parents own the account, every share is parent-approved, and AI access is off by default — parents opt in. See For parents.

#What happens if I switch coach?

The new coach gets the share level you grant them — which can include your full memory or just your public-face profile. The old coach's view goes read-only on the day you revoke and expires after 90 days. Their notes stay in your memory for your reference.

#Can I export my training history?

Yes. Settings → Data → Export. You get a single PDF (readable) and a JSON file (machine-readable) with everything you've ever logged, all your AI summaries, and all your coach's notes that you have access to.

#I logged a session by mistake — can I delete it?

Yes, from the session screen. If a coach has already referenced that session in a plan or summary, those references are kept (with a small "(deleted)" tag) but the original session is gone.

#Technical / partners

#Do you have a public API?

Not yet. Read API in private beta Q3 2026, write API + webhooks Q1 2027. See API roadmap.

#Open source?

The core platform is closed source. Some smaller pieces (the table-tennis skill tree YAML, our session-summary prompts, our content style guide) we publish on GitHub for review — being audited by the community is more valuable to us than keeping them secret.

#Can I self-host?

No, and we don't intend to add this. Self-hosting Avelok would force every club to run an AI inference contract, manage their own backups, and own data residency — that's a worse outcome than us doing it once well.
